The following are some of my thoughts about sources of inspiration I use for non-fiction memoir writing:

I just thought of a fourth source of inspiration: social media feeds by individuals who explore similar personal themes and experiences, such as Melissa Broder's Twitter-X feed, SO SAD TODAY. Broder developed her short posts into a series of thoughtful personal essays she eventually compiled into a book she published. UK Instagramer Sedona Jamieson's feed uses imagery and caption stories to discuss her own mental health challenges and her healing journey. She has done a TED TALK and is writing a book about her journey. She is responsive too, and we have had a chat going over the years that has been supportive and encouraging, as well as a chance to just sit with emotions surrounding content we have shared. She's vulnerable and unapoligetically honest about her experiences, both positive and negative. Finally, clinical counsellor, educator, and writer Ross Laird's personal website has many excellent articles about mental health and wellness. He has also given several TED TALKS, including one focussed on finding and embracing WONDER.
