This class project is to draw a simple object in the engraving style. I drew three kinds of fruit just to show different examples. You can simply draw one. I suggest a fruit, a plant, or a flower because these things look great in this style.

First I drew the outer lines of my object...

Then I drew the inner lines using the blend tool to make more intricate linework. My lines have a tapered end because I really like that look...

Next I took my apple and made some adjustments to add texture. I drew a circle and then deleted everything in the circle. This makes a highlight in my lines. I also took lines and deleted them so that my horizontal lines get a bit of texture added to them when I deleted parts of them.

My last step is adding color. I used some solid fills and then used the gradient tool to add different gradients. I also colors my strokes to make them, not black, but colors closer to the fill colors.
