Sample Project for my Peculiar Prompts Class
Thank you for checking out the sample project for my new class: "Peculiar Prompts for All-Round Creatives: Gain Confidence & Find Your Flow"
I know how having too many ideas can completely freeze us allrounders. The same can happen when we think we have no ideas. And that’s why I’m sharing my peculiar exercises with you in my class. These help both tame the mind and give it permission to do its thing: create!
Below are some examples of how you can do your project. And as the class will grow with time, the project will too. I too will be adding some sample images to inspire you.
Shabby Situation:
This is from the most recently added lessons. Give it a go and say goodbye to creative block.
One of my downgraded tools:
Part of my mixer to work with clay.
My self portrait in progress with my homemade 'brush' that is featured in the class. Not too happy about the colours, but I love the looseness this gives me. Using the end of the stick adds more possibilities!
These are the jars from the lesson on storing one's ideas and clearing the mind. Still empty here, but getting fuller every day.
An idea I had and pulled out of the idea jar, was to paint vegetables on wooden thrifted cutting boards and these are some practice panels. I like these because they are not too neat. Nonetheless, I always love details too, so I allowed myself to dive into the heart of the onion with more precision.
This is an example of my Affair between Photography and embroidery. It was quite painful to look at when I was making it, but I was also intrigued. Especially sticking a needle in my eye was scary.
I wrote in my journal:
It makes me very happy to have come out of the closet of just being a photographer. I still love the medium and feel grateful to be able to use it to improve mental health, but I also need to use my hands and touch materials.
There is a whole list of ideas that I want to turn into lessons. It is asking my attention many times a day. But I look forward to receiving requests from anyone taking this class. Feel free to ask as a response to this project or in the discussions section of the class itself.
