Sample Project: Sunshine

Sample Project: Sunshine - student project

It's ironic I'm posting this since it's raining outside, but the reason I chose the word 'sunshine' is because we're finally getting some beautiful spring weather here in Georgia and I've been soaking up every bit of it I can :)

Here's the process I went through from start to finish of adding bounce!

1. First, I started with the non bounce word (normal baseline):

2. Using the tips in the class, here's where I found opportunities to apply bounce lettering to the word:
(pencil is the original (normal baseline word), baseline and x-height is in red, blue = bounce opportunities, orange = variations to the original style/structure of the word)

3. I then re-wrote the word in pencil, this time as bounce lettering, with (bottom) and without (top) the alternate styling of the S and h:

(I practiced a bunch)

4. I decided I liked the alternate S and h better, so I re-lettered it in ink, then added extra weight to the downstrokes:

For fun, I also drew it out using a plain craft marker :)
