Ruling Pen Fun

Learning to use a ruling pen as a marking implement using various inks. I learned so much about the pen as well as various inks; even how to make inks out of paint!  Thank you Denise, you are always full of the best information!

I didn't have the graphite stick that you demonstrated, but did have a graphite ink from Amsterdam that I used instead.  It didn't seem to bloom the way the stick did for you.

I loved using the ruling pen with various inks as it does last so much longer and having the ability to adjust the size of the flow is wonderful.

My only issue was that I used Dr. P.H. Martin's concentrated watercolor when doing the asemic writing.  When adding the next layer of paint, it ran. I also tried spraying FinalFix by SpectraFix on the second piece and the lettering blurred. Is there another product you would recommend for keeping watercolor paints stable when adding more layers that works better that this one? Or, did I just spray too much or too close? Thanks for your advice!
