That's made such a positive difference Catherine, well done on giving it another go. I often put a painting away and look at it a week or so later with a fresh pair of eyes. The great thing with watercolour, is that is relatively easy to add another layer of colour here and there when needed. They look like they ar growing on the same bush now. Best wishes, Carrie

Hi Catherine, this is a very pretty painting. You've achieved some nice shading and tonal values on the petals, particularly the rose on the left. I really like the looseness you've created with the foliage too, especially the sepals around the rosebud. It's great just as it is, but a tiny suggestion would be to add a little bit more colour in the shadow areas on the rose on the right. best wishes, Carrie
