Hi Sabrina, I'm glad you enjoyed the class. This is not an easy design skill to develop and I think you have done quite well for your first attempt at it. One suggestion I have is to simplify the amount of detail you are putting in to the poster, remember that you are trying to capture the representative detail of the place not a photo realistic rendering of your reference photo. In this case that might take the form of not putting the cars in at all, using the parking lot as a negative space and filling it with larger text. Another thing that I'm noticing going on is a lot of strokes on you objects especially in the building and the stairs, this is ok if it is the style you are going for, but if it were me I would probably try to remove those strokes and break up the flatness there with some small shadows and highlights. for example the roof of the building is definitely a highlight in the original image. If you are feeling that the details on the building are to small then zoom in on the image a bit making the Rock itself and the building bigger and losing some of the dead space in the front. That will allow you to make the details of the building bigger. Overall great work on this, I'm impressed with the amount of work you have been putting in and your improvement from courses to course!

Thanks, Ben, now I can see how I could've done it differently. Maybe later with more experience using the software, it will be easier to redo. Actually, it has been hard work learning the software and learning the software tools, but it is rewarding to see improvement.  If you have any suggestions on which course would be good next, please let me know. I'm doing a photoshop course now.

Yes design is a constant process of iteration, that's why feedback is so useful! It definitely is hard work though, what looks like talent from the outside is usually years of hard work on the inside! I would suggest looking at my infographic course next if are able. That is one that will utilize a lot of the basic skills you have already learned in a new context, it is also one that will be taken down at the end of the month if no one leaves a good review, so just a few days left. It is for the V1 iPad version, but it would still have lots of applicable information for you.

Hi, this is my project for the Retro Monochromatic poster. It was very challenging to create this poster maybe because it has a lot of details, but I gave it a try. I would appreciate any feedback.

My biggest issues were: - I couldn't get the street and the cars and shadows from the right.
- the building at the back on the right, the details were too small.
