Great tutorial, Jake. I was wondering how you achieved the animated line effect inside the circle on the last example? I thought it was venetian blinds but there is no offset property to animate that effect...

Thanks! If I remember right, I created the effect using a shape layer. I had a single path with a stroke applied, then I added a repeater operator and added a bunch of offset duplicates. Then I made a shape layer circle and used it as an alpha matte for the repeated lines. Finally, I animated the position of the lines shape layer so it moved at the speed I wanted and looped seamlessly with the rest of the animation. The venetian blinds effect would've worked just the same, I just chose to stick to shape layers.

I just used a solid later as a track matte for the squiggle, and then animated the position of the squiggle. That way the track matte only showed the part of the squiggle beneath it, and it looks like it's staying in place.
