Project One for Holiday Workshop

Sorry for the late post! I joined the workshop on November 29th and have actually been down with a migraine for a few days. I'm also an extreme novice painter; I just really love making watercolor art.

I like to utilize my time and space, so here's how I work my practice pieces! I've got tons of different techniques and ideas working on one big block, 270mm x 390mm (15.4" x 10.6"). I sort of regret working so small on some of it, but here we are!

I also don't have anything near a script brush, so I made due and tried to focus on technique. Vintage colors kicked my butt a little, but I also only have watercolor white not ink or pen white. My newly purchase masking fluid sort of let me down but I was also experimenting with salt right on top. Many lessons learned.

I specifically love my birch tree forest and how easy it was to get such a stunning effect! The gnome lands close second as my favorite and I can't wait to paint more of both of them for gifts.Project One for Holiday Workshop - image 1 - student project
