Project # 10: Unwrapped

Project #10: Unwrapped
I decided to use both versions of the script and different voice actors and mix it all up into something new. I also wanted to play around with different text effects.
Project #9: Parkour
I decided to tackle the interview first, so I cut it up and reorganized it. From there I tried to use footage that I thought worked with what he was saying. I ended up purchasing the rest of the footage because I really wanted to do transitions between inside and outside. Because of this I was given a lot of B roll to use. I still wanted to find some of my own like Dan had suggested so the first few shots are of places that I thought one might do parkour. I had a lot of fun with this and highly recommend getting the extra footage if you can (you'll have a LOT to choose from)!!
Project #8: Your [Place]
Finally after a long hiatus, I am able to get back behind the computer!!! Heres my Project #8: Your [Place].
I started with the Instagram size first (4:5) and had a bit of issue with finding videos that fit. Pixabay.com and pexels.com were really great sources for finding free stock footage. I ended up getting a lot of keyframe practice (lol) and while looking for my last video, I realize you can search for videos based on horizontal or vertical (smh). Anyways, the motion graphics are from envato.com so I can't take credit for them. There were things I wish I could have manipulated with them (overall size and placement....plus a shadow option would have been cool) but thankful I could use them and not have to spend time creating my own.
In the beginning I felt a little lost (and overwhelmed) because there were so many options and I was unsure of what direction to start with. But I just made a list of all the things I like to do in my city and just found video of that, then pieced together a "narrative" (day to night). Because I decided to focus on my tiny bit of earth, there were no actual footage of Roanoke, but I wanted to put in our famous star so I used a photograph that I then manipulated with keyframes! Hope you enjoy!!!
