This is a picture of my cat last winter, when she was sitting in front of the window watching birds (that's why this orchid leave is in the way). I made a couple of adjustments when it comes to the tone and exposure and also used the brush overlay to highlight her eyes a bit more. 

In this picture, I played around with the adjustments too, and also used the gradient overlay to reduce the saturation in the water. The sunset and/or light pollution would have been a bit too much for my taste otherwise. 

 

Thanks to Ben for all the information :) I did learn a lot about the development persona and especially the gradient and brush overlays were something new to me.
