Thank you! I am still happily exploring different ways to make marks with different brushes! Yes, I used masking fluid for the upper blue tree and negative painting for the lower one, although for both of them I painted a pale blue layer first, then some darker details and finally white gouache for the last layer. I also used making fluid for the goldish tree on the bottom left. First I did a yellow wash circle over the blue sky, then masked the branches and painted darker tones over them. Then I removed that masking and added new masking for the lighter leaves. The next wash was darker than I thought and all but obliterated the masked branches, so I painted in new branches after painting in the darker leaves. I love the way the underlying pale sky blue has made the light leaves look kind of golden. I would never have thought to use pale blue as an undercoat, so one of those happy accidents.

Thank you for sharing another beautiful project! All super nice, Beautiful sky and clouds. I love the trees on the right with blueish branches. I guess you used the masking fluid there? If yes, then definitely it's worth exploring more.

Playing with different brushes and strokes, and layering with masking fluid. (I painted trees over my day skies to save paper.)
