Playful Watercolor Color Wheels

I just love documenting color palettes. It is so much fun to do, and it is so much much to refer back to them.

Red, yellow and blue, but there are so many combinations and the secondary colors (orange, purple and green) are soooooo different.

This project from my newest class combines the formal color wheel and a fun little pattern right beside it. The little pattern give a lovely idea of the feeling of the color palette as a whole as if used in a project. And they are quite relaxing to make.

Here is the color wheel I painted during the class.

I have painted a number of these color wheels.

In the class, I showed you a pad of watercolor paper that is twice the length of its height. I made a number of color wheels on these pages, and they fold up nicely. I finally binded them in a tiny sketchbook. Sooooo satisfying!

It is another way to keep your colorwheels together for reference.

I looke forward to seeing your own projects!
