Playful Butterflies

Playful Butterflies - student project

Like always, Irina's class was such a delight! I had a lot of fun with it.

At the beginning I followed the instructions very closely and painted a Blue Morpho, with all the correct lines and colors. :) And then another Blue Morpho, but with more vibrant colors.

And then I just got in the mood and started improvising, which is my favourite part of watercolor painting, when you just let go and paint with your soul and not with your mind.

Well, I have to admit I'm bit of a perfectionist maniac, so I searched a lot for pink butterflies because I wanted to paint the colors as close to reality as possible. And then I was absolutelly shocked that there are none. No bright pink butterflies! Something's wrong with this world! :)) So I decided to make my own, and just go with the flow. Hope you like the result! :D
