Planner Peace?

Planner Peace? - student project

Update Jan 1 2020:

It took a while but I finally have it, just in time for the new year! After messing around in inkscape for a while I had an approximation of what I wanted for my planner, but I had a tonne of formatting problems that were causing colours to not print properly. I also realized that A5 wasnt going to be big enough for what I wanted, and standard printer paper wasn't going to cut it. So, I did a test week to work out the kinks.Planner Peace? - image 1 - student project

So, I reworked the format (with my partner's help) in visio, and printed some test pages (my thicker printer paper is on order, so I'll be using it starting next month). I really like it! I ended up choosing 8.5x11 paper, since it gave me the space I needed. I also matched the width of the days to most planner specs, so I can still use EC and HP stickers to decorate. I also left the date section blank so I can use date cover stickers without having to white anything out.

All in all I really love how it turned out! It has everything I need as far as sections and trackers go, and nothing else. Thanks for the course, it really helped me assess what I needed in my planner.

I had a horrible creeping suspicion that none of my past planners (ringbound with various inserts, erin condren, happy planner, bullet journal, etc) were really right for me. I've been making do by making custom stickers to basically cover half of whatever I'm currently using, so I was hoping this might help. Here's me realizing that since I don't have kids and rarely work (fun with chronic illness), my categories are more about the style of recording? (best way I can think to summarize)Planner Peace? - image 3 - student project

And suddenly realizing that I only plan short-term for the most part:Planner Peace? - image 4 - student project

And the horrifying conclusion!Planner Peace? - image 5 - student project

Thanks again Cindy. I have been dragging my feet on the idea that I would have to design and diy a solution, and this hopefully gave me the kick in the butt I needed to do it. I'll post pictures when it's done I hope!
