Paper Marbling Magic

Paper Marbling Magic - student project

When I began the project, I couldn’t even imagine where this creative journey will bring me. The most amazing thing about this technique is that it’s absolutely unpredictable, but if you use your favourite colours and motifs the result is going to be so rewarding!

I decided to use contrast colours to get vibrant designs and tried to paint pansies

One of my favourite motifs are swirls and here is what I came up with.

I've scanned the artworks and had tons of ideas for their implementation.

Tried vivid colours :)

When working with oil paints the idea was to keep the design as minimal as possible, so there will be a white space left and the whole object won’t look too busy or too messy. The solvent I used had a pretty strong smell so I couldn’t practise a lot, hehe

And a Passepartout

The whole process was so exciting! Now when I’ve scanned the artworks, I can use them as patterns and other design elements.

Hope you’ll enjoy this technique as much as I do!

You can also check my class on watercolor Monotype :)

Thanks!
