Painting with a Palette Knife

Try your hand at using a palette knife to paint!

A few tips:

   - Set a time limit for yourself -- this will help prevent you from "fiddling" too much. Keep it simple!

   - Let go of expectations! The palette knife is a crude tool in comparison with a paintbrush. While learning a new tool will enable you to gain some control, remember that the purpose of using a tool like the palette knife is actually to relinquish some control!

   - Practice just moving paint around with the knife, with no particular end result in mind, to gain a "feel" for what this tool can do

   - Don't worry about staying true to your photo reference -- use it as inspiration, but remember that your painting is your own!

I look forward to seeing your projects! And of course, I'll be happy to answer all questions!

Happy Painting!
