Nicoletta Arnolfini's Sketchbook
I've had a blog since 2006, but have really built it up in the last year. I don't remember when art took over my blog posting, but somewhere along the way, my passion for learning about art, reading about art, and making art broke through my writing.
Teaching art on Skillshare pushed me to improve my blog so that it had a central theme and more streamlined functionality.
Some notes:
- I have a common name, Nicole Arnold, so I bought an uncommon URL and made my name sound more art-related. (The Arnolfini is a contemporary art museum in Bristol, England. Pretty nice, since I focus on abstract art.)
- I blog about my Skillshare classes, workshop announcements, and workshop winners of my giveaways.
- Students can find resources for my classes including book and website research recommendations, along with an art supply list.
- I get a ton of personal pleasure from my blog because I enjoy the interaction from interviewing other artists like Erik Davis and Salli Swindell of They Draw and Cook. The interview with Erik is currently my most-viewed post.
- Just started in 2016 a monthly enewsletter, so I have finally started a mailing list.
