Hi Astrid, thanks for sharing! I'm glad you enjoyed the class and thanks for leaving a review too! I like what you have done by combining the apple pencil with the traditional feather quill. I would be interested to hear if you used shapes or the pen tool to create the feather. Would you like feedback on this project?

Hi Ben, I used the shapes for them all. Using the pen tool would be the next tool to practice with. For the feather I was looking for a warp tool but only find the handles. That need a lot of practice to get it right. I wanted to add more curves in the feather so it becomes more organic shape. And yes please give me feedback on this project.

Awesome! The pen tool definitely takes some practice. Well you have done a great job here. I just have a couple of pieces of feedback that might help future iterations. Generally I would recommend not using gradients in a logo just because they can become mushy at small sizes and don't always work in gray scale (although I was happy to see that you did do a gray scale iteration as well!) So I would love to see a version with a solid color on the feather. Along with talking about color I don't think you necessarily need the white highlight on the apple pencil as it is adding complexity that probably isn't needed in a logo.
I noticed you did decided to remove the gradient from the ink blot. I'm not sure the ink blot is necessary, but if it is I would try to simplify the shape of it so that it isn't drawing the focus of the viewer.
Lastly I find the name pretty difficult to read, and this would especially be true at small font sizes. I would suggest increasing the readability by either changing the font or moving it to a different location off of the pen and feather (or try both options!)

Thank you so much for your feedback. With all that in mind I will create a new one. Normally I do a lot in procreate and I have there also a logo with a feather. Working with only shapes is out of the box thinking for me so I really appreciate your feedback and I understand what you are saying. Think I will play with rounded shapes for more dynamic in the feather shape I will keep you posted

Awesome, I look forward to seeing it. Procreate is a great program as well, but vectors do tend to be better for logos.
