My Roadmap
It is interesting that this class has shown up for me when the year is ending and I am going through the regrets of what could have been better, what were my successes and failures, and what do I look forward to in the next year. And I am thinking of the future feeling burned out and unmotivated. But this is not the first time and I know I’ll pull myself through. Here are few things that have worked for me but when the time comes to reincorporate them into my routine, I forget. This class is a good reminder to keep a list of things that work for you.
1. Go out more in nature. Cramped up in corners, working the whole day we miss out on sunshine. Even a fifteen minute walk in the morning and evening is enough to rejuvenate me and helps me shake jadedness. I feel grounded and energized
2. Eat and cook healthy. I enjoy cooking but fall into junk food trap when pressed for time or following a busy schedule. I have come to enjoy the traditional slow-cooked meals which take long time to cook (soups, chowder etc) but are nourishing and a favorite way to get together with family or friends.
3. I find gardening extremely grounding. Although I am not much of a gardener but doing simple gardening tasks like pulling out dead leaves, cleaning the soil, watering the plants or preparing beds for the new plants makes my monkey mind to relax and pulls me out of the rut.
4. Going through old work and projects, no matter how ordinary they seemed, is so therapeutic and freshens up your outlook on life. It is actually quite calming yet strangely also very inspiring.
5. Cutting down on caffeine and soda.
6. Stretching
7. Getting up early and sitting outside, breathing slowly around trees.
8. Slow evenings with family and friends
9. Getting off the social media.
10. Taking things one at a time and being gentle on yourself.
11. Actively practicing gratitude.
Thanks Fynn for the class. I hope you grow out of this phase, more energized and more inspired.
