My Inspiration Practice
My Workbook Pages:

I am inspired by so many things, but it seems to start with colors most of the time. I mostly use desert colors because I can relate to them most, but lately I've been enjoying all the teals, blues, peaches, and neutrals (mostly skin tones), I see everywhere. I painted these colors from a new paint set I got recently with no project ideas in mind, but they got me thinking about what I could use these colors for.

This is one project example, but I look forward to painting all kinds of subject matter with these colors soon. Thinking about how I can apply these colors to fashion illustration, food illustration, interior design illustration, city scapes, and more, it such a fun challenge!

These are the colors I usually paint with, but I really enjoyed exploring different ones in the swatch at the top. It gives me the option to change it up anytime I need to, which keeps me inspired!!
I mostly use a sketchbook (or single watercolor sheets) for swatching and paint stroke exploration, photos, magazine clippings, and Pinterest, to spark ideas and then use that for my own original project ideas.
I stay away from copying too much due to all the copyright laws (since I publish a lot of my work), so I generally change colors, shapes, and subject matters, here and there to keep it fresh.
I don't journal much, but love the written word, so I hope to be doing more of that soon.
Thanks for following along. I look forward to continuing my new Inspiration Practice!
