I know this lesson is focused on fine art time lapses, but I'm working on using this for model painting progress.

You can see I'm using a dual daylight globe lighting set-up to minimize shadows — I might place  third light from one of the side, as the top and angled lights still cast a bit of a shadow. 

I'm yet to determine the best camera rig and how to best show progress, as I tend to move the model around quite a bit.
