Chey, these turned out so well! I love seeing both the class exercise and how you applied the style to your own OC/ArtFight illustration. That is exactly the kind of thing I always hope for: taking the tools and techniques from class and then running off with them in your own direction. Your class exercise is already beautifully done, but I have to say, the second illustration is especially fantastic. The character with the rolling pin, the bear, the text… it has such a strong story moment and so much personality. I may not know the full lore here, but I absolutely get the drama. 😄 The colour combination of turquoise, orange, and black works beautifully, and you used so many of the mid-century elements from the class so well: the shifted shapes, dotted lines, halftones, bold graphic forms… it all comes together in a really strong and stylish way.
