Before starting my own project, I looked around for more inspiration. At first I was looking for examples of typographic color, as that was a new concept for me, and one that I found fascinating from the class. That led me to looking at menus, which led me to this menu for RAGU cafe where images and text come together on every page of the menu.

The menu shows the food that diners will receive, but instead of a diner-esque result, it's a truly beautiful menu that lets the food speak for itself.

The menu also employs scale to highlight certain dishes, and frames each dish differently.

Even with a sophisticated, black menu, they still highlighted the prices in a way that doesn't distract, which communicates the information that customers need. I was struck by the visual presentation of this menu, but also thought that functionality wasn't compromised either.
