This was definitely a fun course! I find working with pets way more fun than shooting models. They don't care as much for what you're doing so you can make as much mistakes as you like and they won't judge

The most important lesson learned was how quick you need to be ready to capture that "special" moment. I spent the whole afternoon trying different setups with a houseplant as a model before bringing the handsome Memo for the shoot.

I used a couple microphone stands with a black quilt clipped to them as a backdrop, and an artificial grass rug for the floor. I went with two speedlights for lighting, with a collapsible softbox for the keylight and a DIY cardboard and cloth diffuser for the rim light. I had no more lights available so that was it. This was my first time using a setup like this and trying to get the "studio look".

Shootout to my sister and assistant Andrea (Memo's mom/owner). We're getting Memo some more treats and a well deserved bath for tomorrow, and see if we can get some better shots. We also wanna try a white backdrop or other fun settings
