This summer my family is doing the "relay for life" in honor of my grandfather who passed away from cancer. Of course, we needed some cool team t-shirts to wear ("Melon Head" was a sort of term of endearment from my grandpa), so I used some of the tips from this class to create the art.

The font I used is Arvil Sans. To create the swishes coming off the letters I used the stroke styles in illustrator, then did a small path at the top of the letters to make it connect to the letterform smoothely.

 Even though my initial sketch was a little more scripty, i like how it turned out using a san serif.

Here are a few iterations before I decided to create the round enclosure.
