Medieval Ornament

Medieval Ornament - student project

This is my work completed for this project.

A great class and project, which had me trying out 2 or 3 different ideas. I started with a Robin in the middle rather than the owl ( or mouse in my case) but then felt it wasn’t the best I could do, so incorporated the mouse instead. I incorporated apples in my illustration, I have an apple tree in m garden and very familiar in how it looks throughout the seasons, and hope I have shown this here. I includes the robin first, but felt that it was more appropriate for the mouse crawling out of a nest. The trees in the background ware intentionally produced this way, hoping to achieve the feeling of autumn. My piece is intended to show the seasons, from spring through autumn. The floor meaning to communicate the idea of leave fallen from the trees and onto the ground to represent autumn. The new buds and blossom for spring and of course the fully grown apples for late summer, early autumn.
