Maro's Patterns

Very excited to be doing this class. I'm planning on completing it over the course of October in lieu of a full-tilt "inktober" challenge. Thanks, Prof. Rye! :)
Day 1:
I love how shapes organically vary as they get duplicated, like how this chevron ended up reminding me of a pagoda.
Day 2:
We've been harvesting a lot of plant medicine so I was inspired to go with a floral element for this pattern.
Day 3:
I used a balance of measuring out a grid to keep this seigaiha pattern consistent, but also challenging myself to use different size pens in one piece to incorporate a more organic feel. I actually drew this the other way around but flipped it.
Day 4:
The repeat pattern for filling this circle is inspired by how I complete nonograms/picross puzzles LOL. A little bit of tidying in post via Photoshop, but otherwise just inverted the colors and added yellow.
Day 5:
I was going to further develop this pattern but I stopped when I discovered I had given form to an army of new friends lol!
Day 6:
Day 7:
I really fell down a rabbit hole on this one. I love that it looks like stained glass and now I want to go to a spider temple!
Day 8:
I didn't realize how Christmas-y this came across after finishing it hours ago and sharing it now. Waaay too soon for that nonsense, but maybe I'll use this in December for some gifts or something.
Day 9:
I had a lot of fun with this one, playing with themes of duality. Both light and darkness are beautiful, and necessary, in their own rights.
Day 10:
When I was little, my shelf in my bedroom was constructed of lumber and some concrete breezeblocks. The pattern is burned in my brain lol.
Day 11:
I was inspired by my mentor to draw some turkey tail mushrooms for this organic pattern and I'm so glad it turned out as well as it did. If you don't know what they look like, I highly recommend looking up these shrooms. Gorgeous!
Day 12:
Back at it again with gold elements lol. TBH, I didn't do the linework with any colors in mind, I've been colorizing exclusively in Photoshop. But, I've been loving working with gold and realized purple is a classic partner for a feeling of royalty (by Western standards, anyway). Fitting for an artist who is both Japanese and European by descent. :)
Day 13:
Drew this pattern exclusively digitally to get more comfortable illustrating on my new tablet.
Day 14:
I experimented with repeating, seamless patterns for this one. The lineart is already comprised of duplicated drawings, and this next one is the above repeated again.
