Marine Life

This final project truly inspired me! Thank you GloriAnn for this beautiful class.

It was great to practice wet-into-wet and brush control. Also, I had a lot of fun exploring the possibilities of using the gold accent color. For my project I tried to incorporate it more into the blue watercolor to create a delicate shimmering effect here and there.

For the drawing I looked for reference pictures and draw a mix of them. It was the most difficult part of the project for me, to draw the right shape freehand.

I enjoyed a lot the whole process of creating those illustrations and I'll definitely continue to explore those techniques in the future!

Below are some process photos.

I tried to use only one layer for the majority of the painting, so I added dimension and color wet-into-wet.
