I struggled with this project! None of the final compositions came out the way I wanted them to turn out; the painting with the mouse is the one I'm most satisfied with. There was a *lot* of trial and error here. The biggest "win" is all the tiny details: how to create skeletal trees in the background, when to use goache and when to use watercolor, how to create mottled fur, and how to create a great day-glo-yellow-on-dark-blue composition. I'd never used frisket to create stars before; I plan to do it a lot from now on! I enjoyed sketching the mushrooms and creating a "floating" composition full of mushrooms.
