So I still need to explore the watercolor portion of this class but I wanted to upload the pencil sketch portion of the class while I work on the rest.
I love drawing Iris flowers so below shows my process of the sketch, the coloring, and the print. Loved learning about the photoshop techniques to color the flowers, adds so much dimension!
Here are some additional flowers I sketched for the print:
I created some more motifs and created a new print layout shown below with slightly muted colors and a different layout.
So I continued to push myself and come up with another print variation for a portfolio collection I am working on called Mystical Forest and I think this is my favorite result so far! It is for a transition/spring collection.
Here is some practice with some circular orb shapes- I experimented with salt, bleach, multiple watercolor brands, and india ink:
I then experimented my making overlapping circles and combined them with some of the circles above to make a repeating pattern, I also thought that adding some blakc ink "henna" elements would be interesting.

Final Print Colorways, I think the different medias and techniques resulted in dimensional and magically textures:
Used some photoshop techniques to get a really different colorway result:
11/23 update! Made another colorful print with lots of differnt hand-drawn dried floral, gem, and feather motifs.
