Hi Carmen, thank you so much for taking the time to both leave a review and post a project. I'm getting the impression from what you've written here that you're not particularly happy with your painting and I really wanted to say something about that. For me, when I look at what you've created here I see distinct dark shadows and strong contrast. This is so important for describing the features and the curves on the face. I also see highlights showing the places where the light reflects which tells me something important about the shape and curves on this face. And the main thing I really wanted to convey in this class was how you can use light and dark to 'describe' a face. Which is exactly what you've done here. Now I absolutely understand the frustration with not getting it to look just like the photo - I feel that too myself at times with my own work. What I would say to you about this is that the ability to capture "likeness" comes with practice, So in terms of showing in your project the key things I was trying to teach in class, you're there! Well done.
