Loose landscapes

This was a great class! Just what I needed to loosen up my work. I've been focusing on learning to draw better, and while that's going well (which makes me really happy) I feel I'm loosing a little playfulness... Anyone recognize that?

I also loved the exercises because now I can fit some drawing in even when I have very little time :)

Here's what I did.

I based all my drawings on photo's from my holiday on the south coast of England.

It was hard to get some depth in this one (above). The perspective had me puzzled.

I love how this garden turned out! I've got lights and darks and textures and I didn't make my usual mistake of leaving no white space whatsoever ;)

I like the combination of watercolor and collage. Collage is great for playfulness, but somehow this turned out a little less loose...

Thank you, Liz, for sharing these exercises, I will be returning to them often!
