Learning to paint christmasy floral elements

I've started working on the class projects. Slowly practicing and experimenting my way through all the exercises. Joly makes everything look so easy and spontaneous! Well, I hope with practice I'll get there, too! :)

First page: pine, cedar and mistletoe. The pine gave me a lot of green, but I'm fairly OK with the last one. My mistletoe leaves kind of look like bunny aliens with the berries painted in, tho. ;D

The second page is holly and the fillers. I experimented with different colours and also different ways of painting the holly leaves and the berry filler.

I love love love these elements and I can't wait to continue with the next ones and then paint a wreath! :)

Update: I finished the rest of the elements. I was pretty unhappy with the twigs, but trying another brush helped.

The poinsettias ... looked really nice, when I actually followed Joly's process instead of trying to go freestyle from the picture. ;)

Now's the time for actual wreaths and stuff. Which makes me nervous. *eeep*

I'll update the project as I go along.
