Keep It Real.
I love expressive lettering. It's probably one of my favorite design things to do. To start out I brushed out a phrase using a Faber Castell India Ink Brush Pen. I've learned using Brush Pens you have to embrace the unpredictability of the outcome. It's the wild ligature smears and imperfections that make hand lettering interesting.
Next I digitized my lettering inside Photoshop using a fun technique I use in the majority of my design projects. And I'm actually going to show that process in my next Skillshare class which should be dropping this week, so be on the lookout! It's a Start-to-Finish class on turning Brush Lettering into a complete Digital Design.
For the final design, I made an album cover for a hypothetical Tropical Trap Hop music project (if I were to ever pursue such an interesting amalgam of genre) in my own Music Production endeavors. :-)
Let me know what you think!
