For my project, I chose to illustrate some objects I use on a daily basis as an illustrator. 

 

1. Sketches 

I started loose and rough with some sketches (using pen and paper). 

 

2. Tracing in Illustrator 

I scanned my sketches and then traced them in Illustrator using the Pen tool and some basic shapes. 

3. Making shapes and adding color 

I refined some of my shapes and closed others with the Shape Builder tool and then added a simple 4 color palette to the artwork. 

4. Adding texture and grain detail 

I used the custom set of art brushes I showed you how to make in the class to texture the edges of my shapes and then added grain with my scatter brushes. Finally, I changed the composition a little.
