Here are a couple of flat lays that I tried. I think that the Court of Thorns and Roses was more successful than the Discovery of Witches but I'm happy with how both turned out. Using a more cohesive colour pallet and fewer props allows your attention to go right to the book. With the Discovery of Witches photo, I think I got too excited that I would get to use spooky props and just threw too many in.  Keeping your lesson on composition in mind, I used a hula hoop to centre the items. I think it worked pretty well.
