Inevitable Miss

Inevitable Miss - student project

I wake up in a deserted barren lands, piles of dried grass rolling down from one side of the hill to the other, dead trees and violent winds as far as one can see. I'm thirsty but I don't t know how I got here and where was I before this. I'm trying to remember anything that might give me a clue to my situation but I'm unable to, so I start walking in a random direction looking, searching for water to quench my thirst. All I find is a derelict and decaying house far away that triggered a memory in me yet I can't put a finger on it. I reluctantly steps in the house, clearing away the spiderwebs from the entrance, I feel strong attachment with this house for some reason, I still wanna look around so I start going into rooms one by one, I could go into every room except one, the farthest from the front door, the second I reached there and tried to pull the door, I was pushed away from it by a force, it felt like it didn't want me to go in there. I insisted again but this time with much stronger push that threw me all the way out of the front door. With nothing in sight into the wilderness, I decided to just sit down outside the house trying to think my way out of this place.

This place was abandoned years ago by the looks of it, there were no leaves on the trees and plants. Despite my thirst, I couldn't keep my eyes open and went into a slumber.

Another guy into a normal world woke up in his bed, made green tea, recently been broken up with his girlfriend, reminiscing about his sweet brief relationship, so he forced himself to get ready for work, he's an excellent detective, and in law enforcement for couple of years. His partner died on field in front of his eyes by the serial killer who he helped Police catch after all. Now he's mostly quite and reserved, rarely speaks his mind, while his new partner is always trying to cheer him up. It's been a year since his death. He has a rock solid routine despite everything he's been through and I'm not just talking about last year. He appears to be very resilient and collected at all times except... except when his mother calls him after a month, because that's boundary he had to lay in order to protect his space ad emotional energy, monthly calls. "Hey, son! Guess what happened here while you blocked my calls for whole month? " , "What?, mom" , "I'm coming to LA because your dad is no longer with us, we can catch up and go to your dad's funeral after wards" , after he heard the last words, he dropped the phone and himself on the floor against the couch and held his head in his hands and cried for like a hour.

I woke up again in here, I don't know who that guy is and why do I keep seeing him in my dreams.

But from what I know, he's a good dude, he wakes up and first thing he does is snuggle with his cat and feed her, then after drinking the green tea and eating breakfast, he helps out his neighbor start their old wheels in morning, clean the snow from the streets as much as he can from his side, keeps to himself at work, always calm and respectful in traffic, comes home where his cat is eagerly waiting for him by the door, currently reading kite runner and sleeps listening to Celine Dion after dinner. But I have to be present here, all I want is to get out of this place. But I feel like he may be real and in a different world than I am in, and sometimes I feel like he can sense me and I also feel like I can make him sense me for example, when I was pushed out of the run-down house, I saw he felt something in his head, a sensation of sorts, it wasn't pain but it wasn't light either, so yeah, I think I can somehow find a way to communicate with him, and may be ask for his help.

This is just beginning draft of the story that I'm writing. What do you guys think and where do you think I can improve in?

Thanks for reading! Appreciate any feedback.
