Iceland landscapes

Although I didn’t have all the materials that Gudlaug listed I was still able to put down my base layer in watercolours. I made sure to keep to a limited palette as this was also part of a timed study. And I decided to make the landscape with the two large rocks in the foreground my main panel as I liked the tiny houses in the distance.

I used Luminance colour pencils to add some to the texture details, although I kept these to a minimum due to limited time. It’s so wonderful to have reference images from an artist that lives in Iceland. I would certainly love to visit Iceland with my sketchbook and be inspired by the stunning scenery.
