1. Wrapping my cards from the negative space class:

I started a bit reluctantly: The ribbons I bought last week and the ribbons from my collection (I keep ribbons from presents I am given) were a bit stiff and not what I expected them to be. So I cut a strip from my sheer fabrics stash (should have cut it on the biais!) and added a variety of ribbon snippets.

 

2nd try: A candle wrapped in plain tissue paper enhanced with some ribbons

3. For the book I tried some painted cotton fabric (cut on the biais) and added wool snippets. Maybe I like this one best for its softer look. Unfortunately the photo is a bit poor. It is such a grey and rainy day.
