How to Use Colour to Enhance Your Photography Class Project

How to Use Colour to Enhance Your Photography Class Project - student project

For my class project, I decided to go back and edit two shots from an old shoot I did with a local musician. He lives in Dublin city centre and loves this park as it's like a tiny piece of nature right in among the bustle of the city. He wanted to keep the tone of the photos very urban and moody while still having plant life as kind of a hint of escapism.

These shots were taken just as we were wrapping things up and were my favourite shots even though they didn't fit the theme as much as other shots we had taken.

Colour wise I emphasised a lot of the green tones from the railings and the trees in the background. In split toning, I put more green into the shadows while adding a complimentary colour in the highlights so he pops a bit more.
