Hello Meagan,Thank you for sharing your delightful “Happy Basset!”I’m happy to hear that the process helps you with idea generation! You work very well with the process. I see the suggestion of the basset in the scribble’s lines, but you also went beyond the scribble to draw the body legs, tail etc, and make it your own. You don’t stay rigidly within what the scribble gave you, rather you dance with scribble! This is a powerful mindset to have with the process, it truly becomes an idea generator. You also took the suggestion of the mood of the basset, with the simple tilt of the head, seen in the scribble. That tilt suggests a happiness. You went with suggestion and made the eyes contentedly closed and added the happy mouth. The tail is upturned, suggesting happiness as well. The flowers are the perfect touch, speaking to the spirit of the dog. Both with form and emotion, you took the scribble’s suggestion and ran with it! Happy Basset is wonderful illustration that popped out of the scribble and from your vivid imagination! Thank you, Joe

I’m going to practice this technique a bit more because it does seem to help pull ideas out of my brain.
