HANDS!

Hands are admittedly one of my weaknesses. And faces. But hands... This course helped me get a better sense of approaches to practice that will help me consider proportion of the hands.HANDS! - image 1 - student project

The first exercise was a little rough. But I am seeing a better structure than I normally have for hands, so it's a start to improvement!

The same is true of silhouettes. I really enjoyed this experience as it forced me to consider the hand as a shape rather than the hand as a product of anatomy.

The blot exercise was my favorite for how liberating it was. I will be repeating this to make more expressive character hands (I LOVE the dark pink on center right).

Ultimately, I will take what I learned in this class for more structured sketches when I work semi-realism as well as for more means to expressive gestures in hands.
