When it came to starting my project I loved the idea of using contrasting colours so that the colours would "pop". I chose this image because of the muted green and pink tones really worked well together in making a beautiful piece of artwork. 

I'll be using this as a reference as I paint one of my pencil sketches shown below. I forgot to scan it before I started painting (oops!). That's why there's a bit of colour there.
