Lovely shapes!! and the composition is great too! :) I see what you mean about the background color; I think that maybe a different value could help (maybe a bit darker) if you'd still would like to use lilac. I think the background color in your sketch is also a bit darker (and a bit more muted) and I personally think that looks a bit more harmonic with your palette, but the overall colors you picked are really lovely! :D thank you for uploading your sketch too and for watching the class! :)

Thank you for the feedback and the advice :) I will play around with it some more and will try your suggestion.

This was my process. It was a fun drawing exercise and indeed very relaxing. Although I'm not sure about the background color.
