Blender 3D - L'art de la sculpture

Hi Lorena!  I will also answer in English, if you don't mind :) Congratulations! Thank you very, very much for posting your amazing project, and even printing it out!  I haven't got so much experience with sculpting in the real world (some pottery classes long ago and some experience with lost form casting from bees wax), but I can definitely confirm that the experience is certainly in many ways quite different. I think the most important difference is the flexibility of the "material".  In the real world, if you use clay, it behaves like clay, and that's it. However, in 3D, your objects can sometimes behave like clay, sometimes more like butter or even metal, then again you can string material like an endless rope and transform all of it from one stage into the other over and over again. You can mask certain areas, or just extrude material even during sculpting with the snake hook, or quickly build new objects from face sets by extracting and then solidifying, quickly building up shapes with an endless supply of material. You don't have to worry about wasting anything, if there is an excess, just cut if off, if something is missing, just add as much as you need. And then of course there is scaling, CTRL+Z and mirroring... I am delighted by how you brought the lion to life. The facial details are amazing. I can see your experience with sculpting and I love the expressiveness of the lion. Very well done! The only thing I would (certainly very reluctantly) try to spend a little bit more work on, is the mane. In my opinion, the mane gives the lions face the "backdrop", just like a landscape in a painting, and I feel spending a bit more time here to really get the twirls and locks come to life is a rewarding endeavor. I like the fluidity and "blockiness" of the mane here, but I think regarding the details and "motion" of the strands there is still room for some more expression, be it in the abstract realm. The overall shape of the mane also could be just a little bit more refined. But I hope you realize that this is feedback on a high level and I am absolutely in love with your overall result.Also, the printing came out so great. There is really a lot of QoL regarding §D sculpting over real-life sulpting. I guess mirroring, Ctrl+Z and not having to account for gravity are my favorites. But with real-life sculpting I never had issues like low-poly-spikes suddenly pertruding out of my sculpt, seemingly out of nowhere, or just holes popping up that take you an hour to "delete" again. XD
But processes like hair are very different in how to tackle them and I guess that's why I had some more 
problems with mane and beard.

I'm actually making another head to get more fluent in my workflow and solidify the things I've learned, so I'm kinda repeating the course.
Starting it the first time, I actually wanted do make a Hyena-head but then I thought starting with a Lion and adapting the processes later would be a better learning-path. So I'm making the Hyena head now.

Hey hey :)  I can certainly relate. All these digital artefacts are part of the Blender game. You will get used to them and also learn, what moves to avoid to not create these, and if they appear, how to get rid of them as quickly as possible. Wo gehobelt wird, da fallen Späne - selbst digital ;) Regarding the hair. Oh my, that is a whole topic in itself, a giant one. First, the method I show here is only one of many and I would argue one of the most straightforward. But - there are others and one I particularly like is with using curves. It just so happens that I am working on a new class *all about curves*! It will be mainly about creating beautifully shaped curls and ornaments, but I will also share some insight about how to build hair, for rendering and for 3D printing, as well. The method we will be exploring will be perfect for building hair by putting multiple long thin strands next to each other, which is probably more similar to how you would build many strands of hair in RL as well (?) So if you want to learn another completely different way of sculpting/modeling in Blender, then by all means stay tuned :D Good luck with the hyena. The sketches are done more "by the book" in my engagement-ring class, there we do it the classic, technical way with using guidelines and all (<a href="https://skl.sh/356zvkg)" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">skl.sh/356zvkg)</a> I could have been more diligent about that here, it is a good point! Thank you for your valuable feedback.

I'm sculpting for so long now and really wanted to get into 3D sculpting for a long time and I have to say it's really different. Techniques in physical sculpting are so different n so many ways. But
excited to finally made a complete 3D sculpting and even printed it successfully.
Despite blender still giving me lots of headaches I hope to get even more into 3D sculpting.
