These are a wonderful first attempt! I love that you worked on multiple pieces! Were these in conjunction with my lettering challenge on Instagram? &lt;3 So cool! What kind of paper did you use for these?  And what techniques/markers for each one? For the 'ocean air' piece you did a great job smoothly blending the darker and lighter blues. The only thing is for the 'l' in salty I would have the thicker stroke be in the forefront. For the 'hot and cold' I would suggest using a little less water on your brush. The lighter spots in the letters are where a lot of water sat and dried. I do it all the time! This will let the blend be a little smoother. For the 'piña colada' piece it seems like you used only marker for the blends. In order to make the orange to yellow transition smoother I would try to add the darker orange in one stroke. Versus multiple strokes of color that layer in each other. When you are doing the stroke I would alleviate pressure as your marker goes down. So as you hand moves down lift up your marker slowly. This allows the ink to be lighter as your marker moves down, so, when you blend the yellow color you won't have harsh lines. Thank you so much for sharing your work! (⌒ω⌒)

Okay!  I took your feedback and made this one "Life's a Beach" one.  I want to try a blending one with two different colors next - instead of a darker shade of the same color.  This is so much fun - thanks Veronica!

Oh excellent! My only bit of advice would be to blend the strokes that connect each letter as well. I mean the thin strokes that lead from one letter to the next. On the thicker strokes that you darkened the thin strokes that touch it stay light. I would extend the darker color a little to that too! (Let me know if that makes sense).
