Figures in Composition: Painting people in landscapes with watercolor

Your project is to paint figures of your own and apply what you have learned in this class.
You can paint:
- Individual Figures
- Try to experiment with different poses, make small variations by altering the clothing, accessories.
- Practice both methods explained in the class (paint from figure to background, or start by painting the background and work backwards with the created negative space)
- Figures in Composition
- Paint figures within the context of a larger painting. Think about how these figures can aid the composition of the painting, and further its expression. Ask yourself, does the figure lead to the focal point? Does it create balance or should it stand out? Why is it placed there?
- Remember, figures can be equally effective whether they are detailed depictions or simple silhouettes.
