Above are some of my original concept sketches. Some of them aren't pretty, but that's okay! You have to start somewhere.

Here is my refined rough after revising my strongest concept sketch. Again, it still needs some work as you can see with all my little notes, but it's getting closer. 

I traced over my rough with the pen tool. I always try to stick with 90 degree handles (holding shift), but as you can see I break the rules from time to time when I need a very specific curve.
