Female portrait study
I have been wanting to submit a portrait for a while but a few other attempts were over worked as a result of overthinking. Today I decided I’d just stick to black and white as I’d seen Gabrielle post a sketch on IG and it looked easier than incorporating the skin tones for a novice on Procreate.
I’m still learning which brushes create effects that I prefer, ones with a bit of texture. Yet incorporating 6B for the fine line work that I needed especially around the eyes and nose. I decided to keep the hair quite loose as I didn’t want to overwork it and keep the focus on the facial features.
I hope to quicken my process now I know what works for me and how best to blend in the shadows without losing the contrast. Thanks so much Gabrielle for a superb class.
